How to install office pro plus 2024

1. Uninstall Previous Versions

Before you start, uninstall any previous version of Microsoft Office on your PC to avoid installation conflicts and activation errors. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find your old Office version, and click Uninstall.

2. Download Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2024

Choose the version and language that matches your Windows system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). Not sure which one you have? Open Settings → System → About and check under “System type.”

3. Extract the Installation Files

Save the downloaded file to your desktop. Once the zip download is complete, right-click the file and select “Extract All” or “Extract Here.” Open the newly created folder next to the original zip file to access the installation files.

4. Run the Installer

Inside the folder, locate the .bat file (often named install or similar). Right-click on this file and select “Run as administrator”.

Why this method? The purpose of this .bat file is to instruct the setup.exe to use the installconfig.xml file during installation. This ensures the correct version and language of Office is downloaded from Microsoft servers. This method will download a Pro Plus 2024 “preview” version, but the version name will change to the official release name after activation.

5. Activation

Once Office is installed, open any Office application (for example, Word or Excel). Enter your product key and click “Activate”.

If you don’t see an immediate option to enter the product key:

  • Click on “Choose another account”.
  • Select “Enter a product key instead”.
